Terms of Service

By using agidion you agree to these terms. We've kept them short and human-readable — no legalese labyrinth.

1. Using our services

• Our services are for lawful purposes only.
• You're responsible for maintaining access to the email account used to sign in.
• You must be at least 16 years old to use agidion.
• Each person may hold one account. Creating duplicate accounts is not permitted.

2. Registration and account

• You create an account by entering your email address and verifying it with a one-time code sent to your inbox.
• We authenticate you using time-limited one-time codes sent to your email — no password is required or stored.
• During onboarding you must accept these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. We record the timestamp of your acceptance.
• You choose a username during onboarding. Usernames may be changed once every 14 days.
• Newsletter subscription is optional and separate from account registration. If you opt in, a double opt-in confirmation email is sent to your address before you are added to any mailing list.

3. What you can do on agidion

• Posts — publish text posts and images for your followers to see.
• Stories — share ephemeral photo and text stories visible for a limited time.
• Polls — create polls in your posts for community interaction.
• Direct messages — send end-to-end encrypted private messages. We cannot read your messages.
• Profile — set your username, display name, bio, avatar, and other profile information at any time.
• Follows and interactions — follow other users, like and comment on posts, and react to stories.

4. What we expect from you

• No harassment, hate speech, or discrimination of any kind.
• No spam or automated bulk activity without our permission.
• No illegal content or activities.
• No impersonation of other people or organisations.
• No attempting to hack, reverse-engineer, or disrupt our services.
• No uploading content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights.
• No uploading of intimate or sexual content without the explicit consent of all depicted persons.

5. What you can expect from us

• Availability — we strive for high uptime but don't guarantee any specific SLA for free accounts.
• Privacy — your data is yours. See our Privacy Policy.
• Encryption — your direct messages are end-to-end encrypted; we cannot read them.
• Support — we'll respond to support requests within 48 hours.
• Infrastructure — your data is hosted on servers operated by Hetzner Online GmbH in Nürnberg, Germany.

6. Your content

You own the content you post on agidion. By posting you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, display, and deliver it to other users as part of the service. You can delete your content at any time; upon account deletion your content is removed within 30 days.

7. Uploaded media

You may upload images to posts, stories, and your profile. By uploading you confirm that you hold the necessary rights to that content and that it does not violate these terms. Uploaded files are processed (resized and stripped of metadata) and stored securely.

8. Newsletter

Newsletter subscription is entirely optional. If you opt in during onboarding or later, we will send you a confirmation email. Your subscription only becomes active once you click the confirmation link (double opt-in). You may unsubscribe at any time via the link in any newsletter email.

9. Intellectual property

The agidion name, logo, and related trademarks are owned by us. You may not use them without prior written permission.

10. Limitation of liability

Services are provided "as is." We won't be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Termination

We can suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms or if required by law. You can delete your account at any time from your profile settings; deletion takes effect within 30 days.

12. Changes to these terms

For material changes we'll notify you via email at least 14 days in advance. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany and, where applicable, the laws of the European Union. Disputes will be submitted to the competent courts in Germany.
